As an Estate Agent based in Stamford we like to shout about how great Stamford really is!  So whether you are house hunting or just fancy a day out here are our top five favourite things to do in Stamford (in no particular order!)


Burghley House and Gardens of Surprise

Take a walk around the finest Elizabethan Houses and marvel In its splendour! The gardens of surprise are an absolute delight and afterwards you can dine in the wonderful Orangery Restaurant.

Stamford Shakespeare Company at Tolethorpe Hall

The Stamford Shakespeare company host plays throughout the months of June, July and August is the truly stunning open air theatre in the grounds of Tolethorpe Hall. There is nothing more enjoyable for a theatre visit on a summer evening than a picnic on the lawn, a pre-performance meal in one of the two elegant restaurant rooms in the historic hall or a quiet drink in the sun-filled, spacious bar.  If the weathers right take a stroll through the fabulous gardens.

Rutland Water

Rutland Water offers so much for the entire family, from cycling, walking, nature trails, café and even a beach! Take a cruise around the reservoir on the Rutland Belle and marvel in the tranquillity.  There are all kinds f events held throughout the year from wildlife studies to concerts, so all tastes are catered for.

Friday Market

The town is bustling on a Friday with over 90 stalls spreading all along Broad Street and Ironmonger Street in the town centre.  You can literally buy all your household needs in one place, there is such a huge variety of quality items on offer. 

 

The George Hotel

The iconic sign that stretches across the road right outside the hotel is a local landmark, there are many great places to eat and drink in Stamford, however The George really is something very special.  The staff are welcoming, whether you are having a quiet afternoon tea or a large private function the service is second to none.
